The idea of building a 15-storey high rise was born out of creativity and determination. Arc. Eguavoen was not given a brief or a job to design for anyone so he designed for himself.
This is an estate situated in the Sangotedo area of Lagos. It was a brief from ARM Properties now MIXTA Africa.
On January 11th 2020, the Voen Foundation was announced, a non-government oragnisation linked to Voen Associates. The purpose of this foundation is to encourage architectural and design innovation within Nigeria through an annual design competition and a series of design and carpentry workshops throughout the year. The foundation also plans to erect a series of projects to help empower less-fortunate communities in Lagos, starting with a recreational project for the Makoko Slums.

LAGOS: CITY OF WATER
The annual Voen Foundation Design Competition is a three-month-long competition where students, graduates and design enthusiasts can enter to win prize money as well as get their visions and names out there while networking with Nigerian design professionals.
For the debut year of the Voen Foundation, the name of the competition will be Lagos: City of Water. The competition will encourages design submission that imagine a future of Lagos with the threat of sea level rise looming over the city.
